The Grossglockner High Alpine Road

The Grossglockner High Alpine Road (in German Großglockner-Hochalpenstraße) is the highest surfaced mountain pass road in Austria. It connects Bruck in the state of Salzburg with Heiligenblut in Carinthia via Fuscher Törl and Hochtor Pass at 2,504 m. The road is named after the Grossglockner, Austria's highest mountain.
We drove from south to north — from Großkirchheim to Ferleiten. We stopped at Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe and Edelweissspitze (Edelweißspitze) viewpoints

Wilhelm-Swarovski Beobachtungswarte (observation station)
On Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe, the Wilhelm Swarovski observation tower offers views of the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park. The glass architecture of the observation tower coupled with the view of the Grossglockner massif and the Pasterze glacier let you photograph also marmots and ibex.

Descending from the Edelweissspitze, notice the cobblestone — wet and slippery, my friend Sulev on a Porsche 997 GTS
